Form.OnFormClosing(FormClosingEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the FormClosing event.

protected:
 virtual void OnFormClosing(System::Windows::Forms::FormClosingEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnFormClosing (System.Windows.Forms.FormClosingEventArgs e);
abstract member OnFormClosing : System.Windows.Forms.FormClosingEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnFormClosing : System.Windows.Forms.FormClosingEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnFormClosing (e As FormClosingEventArgs)

Parameters

e
FormClosingEventArgs

A FormClosingEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnFormClosing method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnFormClosing(FormClosingEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnFormClosing(FormClosingEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
