How to: Install the Notification Services Engine Components

An instance of Notification Services and its databases can be located on separate servers. On the server that runs the instance of Notification Services, you must install Notification Services. Installing all Notification Services is equivalent to installing the Notification Services engine components.

To install Notification Services

1. On the Start page, click Run the SQL Server Installation Wizard.

2. Follow the Setup instructions until you see the Components to Install page.

3. Select Notification Services.

   Optionally, you can select other components, such as Workstation components, Books Online, and development tools.

4. Follow the instructions on the remaining Setup pages.

5. On the Ready to Install page, click Install.
