There is an alternative add-in?

    Hi Lener-F

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Q&A Forum!

I understand how confusing it can be to look for the Power Query add‑in for Excel 2013 only to find that it’s no longer available. Microsoft officially deprecated the Power Query add‑in for Excel 2010 and 2013 and removed it from the Download Center. You may still use it if you already have the installer, but Microsoft no longer provides it publicly.

Because of this, there are only a few practical options left:

    1. Use a newer version of Excel: Power Query is fully integrated (and kept up to date) in Excel 2016, Excel 2019, Excel 2021, and all Microsoft 365 Excel versions under Data > Get & Transform. This is the most stable and future‑proof solution.
    2. Use the old add‑in only if you already have the installer: Since Microsoft no longer hosts it, the only way to install Power Query on Excel 2013 is if you or your organization previously downloaded it and still has the original MSI file.
    3. Use Power BI Desktop as a free alternative: If your goal is data import, cleaning, merging, or transformation, Power BI Desktop uses the same Power Query engine and is free to download. It’s the closest replacement and is recommended by Microsoft as an alternative to older Excel BI components such as Power View.
    4. Install updates only if your Excel 2013 lacks BI features: Some users of Excel 2013 Standalone are missing Power Pivot or Power View until they install required hotfix packages. These updates fix BI add‑ins but do not restore the Power Query add‑in.

I know it’s disappointing when a tool you rely on is removed, especially in older Excel versions. If upgrading Excel isn’t immediately possible, using Power BI Desktop alongside Excel often ends up being a smooth workflow.

Hope this can provide some useful information to you. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

    Have a great day!

Ciao, in rete non trovi il file .msi
Devi provare a chiedere al forum di supporto per excel se qualche moderatore può inviartelo :(
