As in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Web content management (WCM) in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 uses a template-based page rendering system. Much of this page rendering system, such as master pages functionality, is now a part of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010.
