Hi Asuka_379
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.
You are facing issues with connecting your Surface Pro 9 to another screen using a Type-C cable. We are sorry for this inconvenience, and we assure you that this is not the kind of service we aim to provide.
From what you told us, the problem might be caused by the Type-C port on your Surface Pro 9 not working well with the other screen. The Type-C port on your Surface Pro 9 may not support some screens, which can lead to the “No signal detected” message.
The cable and display seem to function well with your Surface Laptop Go, as you said. Therefore, the problem might have something to do with the software or drivers on your Surface Pro 9.
Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue. I will ask a few questions to further isolate the issue.
- Is this working before on your Surface Pro9 or first time to connect?
- Did you try to use USB-C to HMDI directly connect to the monitor cable with any adaptor and still not work?
- What is the make and model of your second screen monitor?
We will do some basic steps to further fix the concern.
- Make sure that your Surface Pro 9 is up to date with the latest Windows updates and firmware updates. You can check for updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Make sure your Type-C cable is rated version 2.0.
- Check the video input settings on your external display and make sure it is set to the current port.
- Check the port version setting on the external display and adjust it if needed. Most external displays have an on-screen menu that adjusts the port version used by the display.
- Try using a different Type-C cable to connect your Surface Pro 9 to the external display.
- Try connecting your Surface Pro 9 to a different external display to see if the issue persists.
Clear your display cache by following these steps.
- Unplug the video cable from your display, and then unplug the other end of the cable from the adapter.
- Flip the USB-C connector over and plug it back into your Surface.
- Plug one end of the video cable back into your display, and then plug the other end of the video cable back into your adapter.
- Restart your Surface by selecting Start > Power > Restart.
For Enough power .
Use the Microsoft Surface power supply that was designed for your Surface device. If you're using a USB Type-C PD charger, it needs to provide at least the same wattage as the power supply that was designed for your Surface. For more info about Surface power supplies, see Surface power supplies and charging requirements.
Please tell me how it goes.
Kind regards,
Christopher.
