statusStrip1.Items.AddRange(new System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem[] {

statusStrip1.Items.AddRange(New System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem() {toolStripStatusLabel1})
statusStrip1.LayoutStyle = System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripLayoutStyle.HorizontalStackWithOverflow
statusStrip1.Location = New System.Drawing.Point(0, 0)

Remarks
You can use the SizingGrip property to display a grip to provide an indication to the user of when a StatusStrip is resizable.
Even with the SizingGrip property set to true
and the GripStyle property set to Visible
, the sizing grip will not be displayed unless you also set the LayoutStyle property to one of the overflow values. If the LayoutStyle property is set to Flow or Table, the sizing grip will not be displayed.
