This article describes how to create a chart of accounts in a hierarchy tree structure by setting up multiple levels for ledger accounts in China with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
The following procedure shows how to create a chart of accounts in a hierarchy tree structure by setting up multiple levels for ledger accounts. The procedure was created using the demo data company CNMF.
To create a chart of accounts in a hierarchy tree structure, follow these steps.
- In Dynamics 365 Finance, go to General ledger > Chart of accounts > Accounts > Chart of accounts.
- Select New.
- In the Charts of accounts field, enter a value.
- Select Hierarchy setup.
- In the Maximum level field, enter a number.
- Select New.
- In the Length field, enter a number.
- In the Level field, enter a number.
- In the Name field, enter a value.
- Select New.
- In the Length field, enter a number.
- In the Level field, enter a number. Repeat the previous three steps to create additional account number formats as necessary.
- Select Save.
- Close the page.
- Select New.
- In the Account name field, enter a value.
- In the Ledger account field, enter a value.
- In the Account type field, select an option.
- Select OK.
- Select New.
- In the Account name field, enter a value.
- Select OK. Repeat the last three steps to create additional sub accounts, as necessary.
- Select Save.
