New Features
Test cases are now available in a new tab in the console of Power Automate for desktop, allowing you to validate if your desktop flows work as expected. Testing flows come with the ‘Testing’ module, including two new actions for testing purposes, ‘Assert’ and ‘Test a desktop flow’.
A new action called ‘Select SAP navigation item’ is now available in the SAP automation module, allowing you to interact with menu items in the application toolbar of the SAP window.
The ‘Get credential (preview)’ action now also supports retrieving Azure key vault credentials, in addition to CyberArk ones.
Enhancements & Improvements
Connector operations now properly support variables in dynamic inputs, so that their dynamic schema does not reset after using a variable.
In cloud connector actions, creating either new connections that support multiple authentication types, or connections that require certificate authentication, is now also supported within Power Automate for desktop.
The flow name ID and flow run ID headers have now been added to Send email operations of the Office 365 Outlook connector, offering consistency with cloud flows.
Console initiated flow runs now support repairing flow errors with Copilot, in addition to cloud-initiated runs.
The machine runtime startup has now been improved through caching of standard modules and removal of redundant dependency injection and module loader initializations.
A link to the troubleshooter’s sign-in issues category is now included in the respective product errors.
Links to public documentation are now included in the troubleshooter, when diagnosing issues for the connectivity and sign-in categories.
A fix has been implemented to address deadlock issues on window position settings and freezing issues during loading in the flow designer window.
Repaired Functionality
The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:
The installation issues category of the troubleshooter app now does not show optional Windows updates.
Several adjustments took place in various product areas for dark mode:
- The background color of images and image folders in the images repository, which are selected, on hover, or at rest, has now been fixed.
- The color issue of the recorder placeholder, which may be produced when describing a flow with Copilot, has now been resolved.
- The list items in the Assets library now come with the proper rest, hover, and selected state.
- The contrast issue on the sorting options of the Assets library has been resolved.
- Conditional, loop, error block and region actions, as well as comments, now have the expected behavior when selected or upon hover, with their contrast issues resolved.
- Designer actions no longer have background contrast issues when selected.
- The focus border is now visible, when using keyboard navigation in the console or the flow designer.
- The Copilot banner in the home screen of the console is now accessible in high contrast settings.
- In Power Fx flows, the functions’ tooltips no longer face high contrast issues.
A few accessibility issues have now been addressed.
An issue occurring when navigating to the flow properties’ Details tab, while saving changes in the General tab, has now been resolved.
Dataverse database provisioning errors are now handled properly in the console.
The environment now refreshes and loads the flows view automatically, after the Dataverse database is provisioned in the console.
Renaming a desktop flow through the context option or the keyboard shortcut now has the same expected behavior.
The Copilot’s ‘See terms’ link in the home screen of the console now works as expected.
In Power Fx flows, an issue with some data grids not having a function picker icon in their fields has now been resolved.
During debugging and while the flow is paused, data tables now don’t expose a variable picker when being edited.
The prompt submit button in the Copilot suggested actions panel now works as expected.
A null reference exception occurring when capturing a parent screen from an empty control picker is now resolved.
The issue of execution logs failing, due to the error message attribute exceeding the maximum allowed length of 10000 characters, has now been resolved.
An issue where an index out of range exception occurs during structured data extraction from PDFs is now resolved.
An issue with some web elements not being able to be captured within iframe elements in IE compatibility mode has now been resolved.
The ‘Attach to running Excel’ action now throws the proper error, when the target Excel document is not found.
