AssociationSetMapping 内の ModificationFunctionMapping 要素は、Entity Framework 内のエンティティ間のアソシエーションのインスタンスを挿入または削除するストアドプロシージャを指定します。AssociationSetMapping 内の ModificationFunctionMapping は、データベース内のリンクテーブルで通常サポートされる多対多のアソシエーションのマッピングに役立ちます。

AdventureWorks サンプルデータベースの SalesOrderDetail と SalesOrderHeader の間のリレーションシップなど、外部キーリレーションシップをマップする場合は、ModificationFunctionMapping EntityTypeMapping の AssociationEnd のバインド手法を使用します。詳細については、「ストアドプロシージャのサポート (Entity Framework)」を参照してください。

AssociationSetMapping の最上位の要素は ModificationFunctionMapping 要素です。DeleteFunction 子要素と InsertFunction 子要素は、アソシエーションの各 End のパラメータバインドを示します。

DeleteFunction と InsertFunction の FunctionName 属性は、いずれの場合でも、ストレージモデルで参照されているストアドプロシージャの名前です。

アソシエーションは変更できないので、アソシエーションセットの UpdateFunction 要素はありません。アソシエーションは作成または削除のみ行うことができます。

アソシエーションセットのストアドプロシージャマッピングで宣言される EndProperty のバインドは、EntitySetMapping で宣言される AssociationEnd 要素に似ていますが、親要素が AssociationSet を示すので、このバインドはより少ないコンテキストで済みます。ScalarProperty 子要素は、アソシエーションの各 End のキー値とストアドプロシージャの対応するパラメータのパラメータバインドを示します。

次の例では、Contact_Address アソシエーションをサポートする多対多のリンクテーブル内のエントリを作成および削除する挿入関数と削除関数をマップします。
