Using Your Old Toolbars

The Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) library continues to be supported. However, we're no longer adding features or updating the documentation.

If you have used previous versions of Visual Studio to create customized toolbars, the new implementation of class CToolBar could cause you problems. So that you don't have to give up your old toolbars to use the new functionality, the old implementation is still supported.

The DOCKTOOL sample does not use the old-style toolbars, only the new-style toolbars.

You can't edit old-style toolbars with the toolbar resource editor.
