Overview

This style rule flags code that swaps two values using multiple lines of code instead of using a tuple.

Example

List<int> numbers = new List<int>() { 5, 6, 4 };

// Violates IDE0180.
int temp = numbers[0];
numbers[0] = numbers[1];
numbers[1] = temp;

// Fixed code.
(numbers[1], numbers[0]) = (numbers[0], numbers[1]);

Suppress a warning

If you want to suppress only a single violation, add preprocessor directives to your source file to disable and then re-enable the rule.

To disable the rule for a file, folder, or project, set its severity to none in the configuration file.
