How to Configure Destination-Level Authentication

This topic provides steps for configuring a project to use destination-level authentication. For information about the different levels of CSS authentication that can be used when staging projects, see How Are CSS Authentication Accounts Defined and Managed?
Follow these steps to configure a project to use destination-level authentication.
To configure a project to use destination-level authentication
Create and configure the destination-level account(s). For information about how to create CSS authentication accounts, see How to Create and Configure CSS Authentication Accounts.
Add the destination servers to Microsoft Management Console (MMC). For information about how to add servers to MMC, see How to Add and Configure a CSS Server.
Create a project by using the New Project Wizard. For information about how to create a new project, see Creating Projects for Staging.
When you specify the project destination(s) in the Edit Project Destination Properties dialog box, specify the destination-level account as the Authentication account to contact this endpoint. For information about how to configure these properties, see the following topics:
Note
You define the destination-level authentication account for each server in the staging topology for the project. The destination-level authentication account must be defined on the remote CSS servers and belong to the CSS Operators group on each server.
