dayofyear function

Returns the day of year of the date or timestamp. This function is a synonym for extract(DAY FORM expr).

Note

When extracting fields from a TIMESTAMP (TIMESTAMP_LTZ), the result is based on the session timezone.

Syntax

dayofyear(expr)

Arguments

• expr: A DATE, TIMESTAMP, or TIMESTAMP_NTZ expression.

Returns

An INTEGER.

Examples

> SELECT dayofyear('2016-04-09');
 100
