How to: Automatically Check Out Files Upon Edit

You can configure SQL Server Management Studio to check out a file automatically when you begin editing it.

To configure automatic checkout

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. Expand the Source Control folder, and then click Environment.

3. In the Editing box, select Check out automatically, and then click OK.
