TextBoxBase.ModifiedChanged Event

Definition

Occurs when the value of the Modified property has changed.

public:
 event EventHandler ^ ModifiedChanged;
public event EventHandler ModifiedChanged;
public event EventHandler? ModifiedChanged;
member this.ModifiedChanged : EventHandler
Public Custom Event ModifiedChanged As EventHandler

Event Type

Examples

The following code example demonstrates the use of this member. In the example, an event handler reports on the occurrence of the ModifiedChanged event. This report helps you to learn when the event occurs and can assist you in debugging. To report on multiple events or on events that occur frequently, consider replacing MessageBox.Show with Console.WriteLine or appending the message to a multiline TextBox.

To run the example code, paste it into a project that contains an instance of a type that inherits from TextBoxBase, such as a TextBox or TextBoxBase. Then name the instance TextBoxBase1 and ensure that the event handler is associated with the ModifiedChanged event.

private void TextBoxBase1_ModifiedChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e) {

   MessageBox.Show("You are in the TextBoxBase.ModifiedChanged event.");
}
Private Sub TextBoxBase1_ModifiedChanged(sender as Object, e as EventArgs) _
     Handles TextBoxBase1.ModifiedChanged

   MessageBox.Show("You are in the TextBoxBase.ModifiedChanged event.")

End Sub

Remarks

If you change the Text property programmatically, the Modified property reverts to false. This does not raise the ModifiedChanged event.
