Office 365 E15 Mailbox Message is not updated on the BlackBerry device

office365logoorange_web If you use Blackberry Business Cloud Services with Office 365 you may find that you have problems when an email message is read, moved or deleted in the Microsoft Office 365 mailbox the status of this message is not updated on the BlackBerry device. You will be pleased to know that this is a known issue and Microsoft/Blackberry are currently working on a resolution in order to fix this.

This issue is ONLY affecting users who's Office 365 tenant was upgraded to version E15 or created recently

The following events are printed in EWSA log file:

 [40000] (03/07 09:56:24.788):{0x6A0} [38] {m:user01@example.com} Item Deleted notification ignored - not matching patterns: Message/<folder not subscribed>

[40000] (03/07 09:56:24.788):{0x6A0} [38] {m:user01@example.com} Item Created notification ignored - not matching patterns: Message/<folder not subscribed>

[40000] (03/07 09:56:24.788):{0x6A0} [38] {m:user01@example.com} Folder Modified notification ignored: deleteditems

[40000] (03/07 09:56:24.788):{0x6A0} [38] {m:user01@example.com} Folder Modified notification ignored: inbox

Microsoft do not currently have a defined ETA as to when this will be applied, but I anticipate the fix to be deployed within a 6 week timeframe. I shall update this article once I know more.

{Update} The Fix has now been applied to several regions:

A)     If you reconcile please check the wireless reconcile by performing the below steps

BlackBerry 6 to 7.1:

    1. Open the messages application on the BlackBerry® smartphone.
    2. Press the Menu key and select Options.
    3. Select Email Reconciliation.
    4. Set the Message Services field to Desktop.
    5. Place a check next to Wireless Reconcile.
    6. Make sure that the Delete On field is set to the correct option (for two-way email reconciliation, set to Mailbox & Handheld).

BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 to 5.0:

    1. Open the messages application on the BlackBerry smartphone.
    2. Press the Menu key and select Options.
    3. Select Email Reconciliation.
    4. Set the Message Services field to Desktop.
    5. Set the Wireless Reconcile field to On.
    6. Make sure that the Delete On field is set to the correct option (for two-way email reconciliation, set to Mailbox & Handheld).

B)       Follow the above steps if it does not work Remove the battery from the device and re-insert it again. And check if the sync is working fine or not.

C)       If the issue is still there then follow the below steps Reload a user

a.       Login to MOP

b.       Click on Manage under Authorised services

c.        Click on Manage user on BAS console

d.       Find the name of the user in issue

e.        Click on the user name

f.         Click on the Reload user under Status

Note: We need to wait for an hour after clicking on the Reload user.
