VS 2008 SDK August CTP released!
Our team just released the VS 2008 SDK August CTP late yesterday. This is very similar to the July CTP that we posted a week ago, but with some very small, targeted bug fixes that address two of the three key issues I brought up in my previous post in regards to VS Shell development. Specifically,
· Microsoft.VSSDK.AppEnvWizardExtension.dll is now properly strongname signed, so you won’t get the error when creating the VS Shell template.
· DependencyChecker.exe is now properly strongname signed, so it doesn’t throw an exception when you build your VS Shell project.
· The VS Shell template no longer creates a broken package with the solution, so you won’t run into build errors when you F5 immediately after creating the VS Shell project.
If you are not doing VS Shell development and you already have the July CTP, this release would not affect you and you don’t need to download it.
The VS SDK 2008 SDK July CTP is no longer available for download.
thanks,
James
