Prospects (form)

Click Sales and marketing > Common > Prospects > All prospects. On the All prospects list page, open or create a prospect.
Use this form to store information about prospective customers and vendors.
Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Account |
The unique account number that is assigned to the selected prospect. |
Record type |
Select the record type that is used for the selected prospect. |
Personal title |
Select the personal title that is used by the prospect. This field is available only if the prospect record type is person. |
Personal suffix |
Select the personal suffix that is used by the prospect. This field is available only if the prospect record type is person. |
Name |
Enter or select the name of the prospect. |
Search name |
Enter a name that can be used to search for the prospect. |
Professional title |
Select the prospect’s professional title. This field is available only if the prospect record type is person. |
Professional suffix |
Select the prospect’s professional suffix. This field is available only if the prospect record type is person. |
Type ID |
Select the prospect type. |
Display as |
Select how you want the prospect’s name to be displayed. For example, the order of names can be last, first, and middle. |
Number of employees |
Enter the number of people who are employed by the organization. This field is available only if the prospect record type is organization. |
Organization number |
Enter the organization number that is assigned to the prospect. This field is available only if the prospect record type is organization. |
ABC code |
Select the ABC code. This field can be used to categorize parties. Your organization can determine the categories. This field is available only if the prospect record type is organization. |
DUNS number |
The Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number that is assigned to the organization. This number is unique to the organization. This field is available only if the prospect record type is organization. |
Address books |
Select the address books that you want the selected prospect record to be included in. |
Known as |
Enter the phonetic pronunciation of the prospect’s name. |
Language |
Select the prospect’s preferred language. |
Name or description |

Address |
View the formatted information for the selected address. This is the address that will appear on a printed document. The original address record may contain information that is not included in this view, depending on the specific country/region format. |
Purpose |
View the purpose of the selected address. For example, the address may be used for deliveries only, or for deliveries and services. |
Primary |
View whether the address is primary. A primary address is the principal postal address for the selected party. A primary address can also be the default address for the party. |
Type |
The type of contact information, such as an e-mail address or telephone number. |
Contact number/address |
The contact number or address, such as the e-mail address, telephone number, or URL. |
Primary |
If this check box is selected, the contact information is primary. Primary contact information is the principal form of communication for the selected party. To select or clear this check box, click More options and then select Advanced. |
One-time customer or vendor |
Select this check box if the prospect will be a customer or vendor only one time with your organization. |
Status |
Select the status of the selected prospect. |
Invoicing and delivery on hold |
Select whether any invoices or deliveries have been put on hold for the prospect. |
Customer group |
Select the customer group that the prospect is assigned to, if the prospect is assigned to a customer group. |
Vendor group |
Select the vendor group that the prospect is assigned to, if the prospect is assigned to a vendor group. |
Opening time |
Select the time of day that the prospect opens for business. |
Closing time |
Select the time of day that the prospect closes for business. |
Direct mail |
Select this check box if the prospect can receive mail directly. |
Employee responsible |
Select the worker in your organization who is responsible for the prospect. |
Line of business |
Select the prospect's line of business. |
Segment |
Select the segment of business that the prospect belongs to. |
Subsegment |
Select the subsegment of the prospect's business. |
Company chain |
Select the company chain that the prospect belongs to. |
Sales district |
Select the sales district that the prospect is located in. |
Currency |
Select the currency code for the prospect. This code corresponds to the currency type that is used by the prospect. |
Mandatory credit limit |
Select this check box to display an error if the prospect’s credit limit is exceeded. |
Credit rating |
Enter the credit rating that is assigned to the prospect. |
Credit limit |
Enter the credit limit for the prospect. |
Prices include sales tax |
Select this check box if all prices that are offered to the prospect include sales tax. |
Sales tax |
Select the sales tax group that is assigned to the prospect. |
UPS zone |
Enter the prospect’s UPS zone. |
Delivery terms |
Select the terms of delivery for the prospect. For example, cash on delivery (COD) or vendor delivery. |
Mode of delivery |
Select the mode of delivery for the prospect. For example, ground or next-day air. |
Destination code |
Select the destination code for the prospect. |
Receipt calendar |
Select the type of calendar that is used for deliveries that are made to the prospect. |
Last modified date |
The date that the prospect record was last modified. |
Modified by |
The role of the worker who last modified the information about the selected prospect. |
Imported |
Select this check box if the information about the prospect was imported into Microsoft Dynamics AX. |
