With this feature, you can delegate administrative operations on environments or environment groups to trusted users. You can grant these users time-limited access to perform administrative operations. This feature introduces several technical changes, including updates to the user interface to support privilege assignments. It also introduces the ability to perform limited administrative operations through API only.
The functionality includes the ability to configure environment lifecycle operations in bulk, such as backing up environments, restoring from backup, deleting environments, and more. This functionality ensures controlled access, where users have only the permissions necessary to perform their tasks. This approach enhances security and efficiency.
The feature supports scalability by facilitating the management of a growing number of environments. It supports specialization by allowing users with expertise in certain areas to manage relevant environments.
This feature automatically turns on, so you get its benefits right away. A tenant admin assigns user permissions manually. Admins turn on the feature when they go to the Power Platform admin center. In the Security area, tenant admins delegate administration to trusted users so they can perform environment lifecycle operations through the API.
