How to Access the Business Management Applications

This topic provides instructions for accessing the Business Management applications. Business Management applications run by accessing the Web services that you install on the business management server or other Commerce Server single server deployment.
For a business user to access a Business Management application, the following tasks must be completed:
The corresponding Web service must be installed and configured on the business management server. For example, the Catalog Manager accesses the Catalog Web service.
The business user must be authorized to access the corresponding Web service by either adding their account to one or more predefined authorization roles or adding them to a group which has been assigned to one or more predefined authorization roles.
To access the Business Management applications
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and then click the Business Management application that you want to access, for example, Catalog Manager.
In the Site Connections dialog box, click Edit.
In the Settings dialog box, on the Connection Settings tab, do the following:

Accept the Default site connection.
<Web service>
Accept the default URL, or type a new URL, for your connection to the Web service. For example, to connect to the Catalog Web service, type http://<server name>/CatalogWebService/CatalogWebService.asmx.
Click OK.
In the Site Connections dialog box, click OK to open the Business Management application.
Repeat steps 1 through 5 for each Business Management application to make sure that they are available.
