How to Assign a Web Application to an Application Pool

This topic provides steps for assigning the Web application to its associated application pool.

To assign the Web application to the appropriate application pool

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

  2. In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, expand <computername>, expand Web Sites, expand Default Web Site, right-click the Web service you want to change (for example, CatalogWebService), and then click Properties.

  3. In the <Web service name> Properties dialog box, on the Virtual Directory tab, in the Application settings section, for Application pool, select the associated application pool from the drop-down list (for example, CatalogWebSvcAppPool), and then click OK.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining Web applications that you have to configure.

To assign the Web application to the appropriate application pool on Windows Server 2008

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

  2. In IIS Manager, expand Sites, expand Default Web Site, right-click one of the Commerce Server applications, for example, CSharpSite, click Manage Application, and then click Advanced Settings.

  3. In the Advanced Settings properties list, in the General section, click the Application Pool row, and then click the ellipsis button at the end of the row.

  4. In the Select Application Pool dialog box, select the appropriate application pool for the application, for example, for the CSharpSite application, select CSharpAppPool, and then click OK.

  5. Click OK to close the AdvancedSettings dialog box.

  6. Close IIS Manager.
