How to: Change Source Control Environment Settings

You can control default values for many source control environment settings by using this set of options. These settings include the following options:

  • Which source control system you plan to use (for example, Team Foundation, Visual SourceSafe, independent developer, custom, and so on).

  • Whether to get everything when you open a solution or project.

  • Whether to check in everything when you close a solution or project.

  • Whether to display a silent check-out command in menus.

  • Whether to keep items checked out when you check them in.

  • Whether you want prompts when saving or editing items.

  • Whether you want to allow checked in items to be edited.
