Report Server Installation Details
Use the Report Server Installation Details page of the Microsoft SQL Server Installation Wizard to view the configuration details of a report server installation before it is created. If Setup cannot install a report server in the default configuration, this page explains which default values are missing. Otherwise, this page describes the settings, names, and paths that will be configured during the setup process. Depending on your computer configuration and installation options, you can expect to see the following information in this page:
- Report server information displays the user account used to run the report server Windows service and Web service. The Windows service account is specified in the Installation Wizard in the Service Accounts page. The Web service account is the default ASP.NET account for this computer. These accounts will be used by the report server to access the report server database.
- Report server database information identifies the local SQL Server instance that hosts the report server databases. Setup determines which instance of the Database Engine is used. It is always a local instance, and it is always the instance that is installed concurrently with the report server. For more information about the Database Engine instance used, see Instance Name.
- Virtual directory information identifies the names of the virtual directories used to access report server and Report Manager. The virtual directories are created under the default Web site. They are named reportserver and reports, respectively. You cannot specify different names during setup, or choose a different Web site for the virtual directories.
After Setup completes, you can use the URLs noted on this page to access the server components. The URL specifies the computer name and instance name if multiple report server instances are installed locally. - Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) information tells you whether an SSL certificate is installed on the computer and whether it will be used for report server connections.
Note
You can modify the report server installation using the Reporting Services Configuration tool after Setup is complete.
