How to: Open Database Diagrams
You can open database diagrams to view or edit the diagram's structure.
Note
The dialog boxes and menu commands you see might differ from those described in Help depending on your active settings or edition. To change your settings, choose Import and Export Settings on the Tools menu. For more information, see Visual Studio Settings.
To open a database diagram
In Server Explorer, expand the Database Diagrams folder.
Double-click the name of the database diagram you want to open.
-or-
Right-click the name of the database diagram you want to open, and then choose Design Database Diagram.
The database diagram is opened in the Database Diagram Designer, from which you can edit the diagram.
Note
Only the owner of the diagram or a member of the db_owner role of the database can open the diagram.
