Notes

  • To open a command prompt, click Start, point to All programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command prompt.

  • To enter a context, you can type only enough letters in the context name to allow netsh to identify the context. For example, to enter the WINS context from the netsh prompt (that is, netsh>), you can type w, and then press ENTER.

  • Most of the contexts listed above have one or more subcontexts. For more information, see Related Topics.

  • Internet Connection Sharing and Network Bridge are not included in Windows Server 2003, Web Edition; Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition; and the Itanium-based versions of the original release of the Windows Server 2003 operating systems.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
