OLE Automation stored procedures (Transact-SQL)

SQL Server supports the following system stored procedures that allow OLE Automation objects to be used within a Transact-SQL batch. By default, SQL Server blocks access to OLE Automation stored procedures because this component is turned off as part of the security configuration for this server. A system administrator can enable access to OLE Automation procedures by using sp_configure

Note
Don't directly or indirectly call Automation procedures from any SQL Server common language runtime (CLR) objects. Doing so can cause SQL Server to crash unexpectedly. Additionally, an error message that resembles the following is logged in the application event log:
