Create a travel requisition
The Travel requisition page is like the Expense report page.
Consider a scenario where you are a project manager for a fixed priced building construction project, and you need to travel to the customer’s corporate headquarters to discuss your design with their partners. Because this is a fixed price project, your company policy requires a travel requisition for budgeting purposes.
To create a travel requisition, follow these steps:
Go to Expense management > My expenses > Travel requisition.
Select New travel requisition.
In the Business purpose field, enter the business purpose. Be specific so that the request is easier to find in the future.
In the Destination field, enter the destination of the planned travel.
In the Travel description field, enter specific information about your trip.
The financial dimensions are populated based on the requesters' employment information.
If this request is related to a project, select that project in the Project field.
- Select OK.
- In the Travel requisition expense lines FastTab, select New requisition expense.
- In the Expense category field, select the expense for the line.
- In the Project field, select a project for the request, if applicable.
- In the Estimated date field, select the date that the expense is projected to occur.
- In the Estimated amount field, enter the estimated amount of the expense.
- Continue adding lines until the request is complete.
- Select Workflow > Submit. If requisition policies are violated, you are required to fix them before submitting the request.
- (Optional) In the Comment box, enter information that the approver might need to know.
- Select Submit.
When the travel requisition is submitted, it is routed through the workflow process until all approvers have approved the request.
