This topic is part of the WiFiCx driver model. WiFiCx is the Wi-Fi driver model released in Windows 11. We recommend that you use WiFiCx to take advantage of the latest features. The previous Wi-Fi driver model WDI is in maintenance mode and will only receive high priority fixes.

OID_WDI_SET_SAE_AUTH_PARAMS is sent by WDI in response to an NDIS_STATUS_WDI_INDICATION_SAE_AUTH_PARAMS_NEEDED indication from the driver. It contains the parameters required to send the Simultaneous Authentication of Equals (SAE) Commit or Confirm request, or an error message indicating a failure to perform SAE with the BSSID.

For SAE authentication using Wi-Fi 7 MLO, Windows sets the AKM and cipher in WDI_TLV_SAE_COMMIT_PARAMS. These values are specified in the WDI_TLV_RSNA_AKM_SUITE and WDI_TLV_CIPHER_ALGORITHM TLVs. The driver uses these values later on in the association request.

This command is sent as a Direct OID request to the driver.
