Mr. Jobs tried to downplay the sarcasm behind the ads [link], saying, “The art of those commercials is not to be mean, but for the guys to like each other. ” Mr. Gates seemed unconvinced as the audience broke out in laughter. Mr. Jobs added, “The PC Guy is great… The PC Guy is what makes it all work. ”

Mr. Gates managed a smile. “His mother loves him. ”
