love that nano

Scoble points out that people are excited about the new ipod nano. I got one on Friday at the University Villiage Apple Store in Seattle. It was actually the last 4GB one they had in stock. It's everything I wanted that Rio to be in terms of usefulness & usability sans the subscription service. I had to do a little work over the weekend to get it to transcode my WMA's from my media center to mp3, and then a bit more to get all the album art in place, but once that was complete it's working very well! Made for great entertainment during the flight down to LA for PDC!

The thing that really amazes me about the device is that it seems like it shouldn't be that hard to reproduce the level of quality in the experience. It seems like there's a great business to be made of selling high quality user experience firmware/software and reference electronics that can go into a variety of form factors...
