Interest note (form)

Click Accounts receivable > Periodic > Collections > Interest note.
Use this form to modify, print, and update the interest note proposals that you generated in the Interest calculation form.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Voucher |
Open the Voucher transactions form, in which you can view, by voucher number, the ledger transactions that are related to the interest note proposal that is selected on the Overview tab. |
Cancel |
Cancel the interest note proposals that are selected on the Overview tab. |

Post the interest note proposals that are selected on the Overview tab. Note This control is available only if one or more interest notes are selected. |
Print copies of the interest note proposals that are selected on the Overview tab. Note This control is available only if one or more interest notes are selected. |

Notes |
Open a form where you can enter memos or notes that are related to the interest that was charged on this transaction. This information will appear on the Interest note report. If this control is not available, interest is being calculated at the line level and detailed notes must be entered in the Interest Lines form. Note This control is available only when the Transactions tab is displayed. |
Interest Lines |
Open the Interest Lines form. Note This control is available only if the Public Sector configuration key is selected. This causes the interest to be calculated and charged at the invoice line level. |

Select this check box to filter the interest notes that are displayed in this form. |
Status |
Select an option to filter the list by the status of the interest note. |
Printed |
Select this check box to display only printed interest notes. |
Interest note |
The number of the interest note. |
Billing classification |
Select one or more billing classifications to include in the results. Note This control is available only if the Public Sector configuration key is selected. |
Start date |
The first day on which interest is calculated for the selected interest note. |
End date |
The last day on which interest is calculated for the selected interest note. |
Customer account |
The account number of the customer who is being charged interest. Interest is charged to the invoice account that is assigned to the customer. |
Name |
The name of the customer who is responsible for the invoice account and to whom the interest note is sent. The name is retrieved automatically from the invoice account and cannot be changed on the interest note. |
Status |
The current status of the interest note:

Printed |
Select this check box to print the interest note. |
Language |
The language of the customer. |
Block |
Select this check box to block the customer account from additional invoicing when you post the interest note. To unblock the account, select No in the Invoicing and delivery on hold field in the Customers form. |
Posting profile |
The posting profile that applies to this transaction. Use the Customer posting profiles form to define posting profiles for customer transactions. |
Currency |
The currency of the interest note. |

General journal number |
The voucher number of the posted interest note in the general ledger. When the interest note is posted, this field is updated automatically according to the number sequence that is selected for interest notes in the Accounts receivable parameters form. |
Fee write-off amount |
The amount of any fees that were written off for the selected interest note. For more information, see Collections and credit in Accounts receivable. |
Fee adjustment status |
The current status of any adjustments that were made to a fee for the selected interest note. Fees can have a status of Waived, Reinstated, or None (if no adjustments were made). For more information, see Waive, reinstate, or reverse interest or fees. |
Total |
The total amount of interest that is charged to the customer account on the selected interest note. This includes taxes. |
Sales tax group |
The sales tax group of the customer account, which, together with the item sales tax code, determines the sales tax on the fee of the interest note. The sales tax group is filled in automatically, according to the customer account. You can change the sales tax group before you post the interest note. |
Item sales tax group |
The item sales tax group that applies to the fee of the selected interest note. The item sales tax group is specified in the Interest form for the interest code that applies to the interest note. You can change the item sales tax code before you post the interest note. For more information about how sales tax groups and item sales tax groups determine the sales tax, see Set up and use sales tax codes. |
Print code |
The code for the sales tax on the fee that is printed on the voucher. |
Sales tax amount |
The amount of sales tax on the fee of the interest note. |
Updated |
The date when the interest note was updated in the customer ledger, the general ledger, and the Interest journal form. |
Canceled |
The date when the selected interest note was canceled. |
Fee note |
The amount of the interest note fee. The fee amount is filled in automatically if a fee has been set up for the interest code that applies to the selected interest note. You can modify the fee amount before you post the interest note. Use the Interest form to set up interest codes and corresponding fees. |
Location ID |
The identification of the location. |
Name or description |
The name or description of the address. |
Street |
The street name and street number of the address to which the interest note is sent. The address information comes from the data on the invoice account that is attached to the customer account. You can change the information before you post the interest note. |
ZIP/postal code |
The postal code of the address to which the interest note is sent. |
City |
The city of the postal code in the address to which the interest note is sent. |
County |
The county of the address to which the interest note is sent, if it is required. |
State |
The state of the address to which the interest note is sent. |
Country/region |
The country/region of the address to which the interest note is sent. |
Address |
The address as it will appear on the interest note. It is formatted according to the rules that are set up for the country/region of the address. Before you post the interest note, you can change information in the other address fields, and the information in this field will change accordingly. |
Interest on transaction voucher |
The ledger voucher number of the original customer transaction on which interest has been calculated. |
Date |
The date of the original customer transaction. |
Invoice |
The invoice number of the original customer transaction on which interest has been calculated. |
Due date |
The due date of the original transaction. |
Currency |
The currency code of the invoice transaction. The interest is calculated in the same currency as the original transaction. |
Origin |
The figures used for calculating interest. The amount is converted to the currency of the interest note on the day of the exchange rate, regardless of the original currency of the transaction. Note This field will always display a zero value if the invoice is a free text invoice. To view the origin details for free text invoices, click Interest Lines. |
Amount of interest |
The amount of interest that is calculated on the invoice amount. |
Interest |
Select this check box to charge the interest that was calculated for the transaction to the customer. Clear this check box if you do not want to charge interest for this transaction, even if interest was calculated. |
Adjustment status |
The current status of adjustments to the selected interest note. The status can be Waived, Reinstated, Reversed, or None (if no adjustments were made). For more information, see Waive, reinstate, or reverse interest or fees. |
Write off |
The amount of any transaction interest that was written off. |
Voucher |
The voucher that is associated with the transaction that interest was calculated for. |
Interest date |
The date when the original transaction started to accrue interest. |
Days |
The number of days that the current transaction accrued interest. The number of days is determined by the dates in the Start date and End date fields. |
Description |
The description that will appear on the interest note for the selected transaction. This description is entered automatically during the interest calculation, and it includes the invoice number. |
Default financial dimensions |
The default financial dimensions for the main account. When you select a financial dimension value, the Where the %1 dimension is used field group displays where the dimension is used in account structures and advanced rule structures. |
Where the %1 dimension is used |
The account structures and advanced rule structures that use the financial dimensions that you selected in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group. Note The name of the field depends on the selection in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group. |
