How to: Configure Message Queue Security

After a message queue is created, you must configure the queue security settings to allow Speech Server to read the queue and initiate the outbound calls. Speech Server runs under the Network Service account, which must be given permission to access the queue.
Important
Always configure security according to specific network user domain policies. The following procedure is provided as a guideline.
Securing a Message Queue
To secure the queue
In Control Panel, select Administrative Tools, and then click Computer Management.
Under Services and Applications, expand Message Queuing so that the specific queue is visible.
Right-click the queue, and then click Properties.
On the Security tab, click Add, and then click Locations.
In the tree view, select the computer where queue was created, and then click OK.
In the Enter the object name to select users box, do one of the following:
- If Speech Server is installed on Windows Server 2003, type Network??Service, and then click OK.
- If Speech Server is installed on Windows XP or Windows Vista, type ASPNET, and then click OK.
Select the account that you added, select the checkboxes next to Receive Message and Peek Message, and then click OK.
