Although there are a total of 20 settings available (Escrow Key #1 through Escrow Key #20), only 1 is listed because the information for each of the settings is the same. Loading the Administrative Template files

To load the Administrative Template files, download the files and follow the instructions for "Loading the ADMX templates" in Use Group Policy to enforce Office 2010 settings. Although the article is for Office 2010, the Administrative Templates information also applies to Office 2013.

For information about managing ADMX files and using a central store for Administrative Templates files, see Managing Group Policy ADMX Files Step-by-Step Guide. For Group Policy planning information, see Group Policy Planning and Deployment Guide.

To obtain information about the policy settings that are currently in effect for the Group Policy object (GPO) that is linked to the domain or organizational unit that contains a specific computer or user, you can use Group Policy Results in Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). To access Group Policy Results data for a user or computer, you must have Read Group Policy Results data permission on the domain or organizational unit that contains the user or computer, or you must be a member of the Administrators group on the targeted local computer. For information about GPMC, see Group Policy Management Console.

For more information about how to report by using Group Policy Results, see “Using Group Policy Results to determine Resultant Set of Policy” in the Group Policy Planning and Deployment Guide.

Updating the OCT

To update the OCT, replace the /Admin folder in your Office 2013 installation files or installation image with the new /Admin folder that is included in the download package.

Files that are included in this download

The download package for the Office 2013 Administrative Template files (ADMX/ADML) and Office Customization Tool contains the following folders and files:

  • AdminTemplates32.exe

  • AdminTemplates64.exe
