Collection Editor Dialog Box

Allows you to create and edit individual members of a collection. The specific properties you can edit depend on which collection you are editing. The dialog box is displayed when you are using the Properties window and click the button in the property field for a collection.

  • Members
Lists the currently defined members for the collection. Next to each item is a number indicating its location within the collection. To edit a specific member, select it in this list and use the Properties grid on the right side to make changes.

  • Sort
Allows you to reorder the members of the collection. To reorder, select an item in the Members list and click the up or down arrows to move the item.

    Note

Item order is not important in all collections. However, because this is a general-purpose collections editor, the sort feature is always available in the generic collection editor.

  • Properties
Displays the properties you can edit for the currently selected member. The specific properties you can edit depend on what collection you are editing. The grid works much like the Properties window, but some features (such as reordering the properties) are not available.

In some cases, the properties of the current member contain additional collections. If so, you can open a nested version of the Collection Editor dialog box for that collection.

  • Add
Allows you to add a new item to the collection. The new item is added to the bottom of the Members list and given a default name. You can change the name by editing properties in the grid. You can change the location of the item in the collection by selecting it and using the buttons under Sort to move it.

  • Remove
Deletes the currently selected item from the collection.
