BizTalk 2013 R2: Maps and Orchestrations missing in Add --> New Item

You create a project in Visual Studio 2013. In the project, select Add --> New Item. Maps and Orchestrations are missing from the list. Only the following two items are listed:

  • Flat File Schema Wizard
  • JSON Schema Wizard

 

Resolution

Uninstall Visual Studio 2013 Update 2. 

OR

Install Visual Studio 2013 Update 3 RC (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2933779).

    Thank You! I'd tried everything, repair, reinstall, devenv.exe, and nothing worked. Then I stumbled onto your blog and tadaa, saved my day :)

    Well, well, well... you couldn't have said that a little earlier! I just uninstalled BizTalk... grrr Just "kidding" (yes with quotes) Mandi... ;)

    Did not work for me. I tried both uninstalled Update 2 and also installed Update 3 RC. still missing item templates

    Started Visual Studio As admin and then it worked

    +1 to Vikas Yes starting Visual studio solves this issue and it is a simpler work around

    I was using VS 2013 Update 3 only, but was still facing the same issue.. i repaired the VS 2013 and it worked for me
