DirectX
Two new API's have been developed for Windows Vista: Direct3D 10 and DirectX 9Ex. Developers wanting to access the newest 3D rendering technologies, and features available on the Vista platform should use Direct3D 10. DirectX 9Ex is a slight extension of the standard Direct3D 9 API that provides a few new benefits available in the Vista Driver Display Model.
