<remove> Element for <authenticationModules>

Removes an authentication module from the application.

      <authenticationModules>
         <remove>

   name = "authentication module name"

Required Attributes

Attribute Description
name The name of the authentication module to remove.

Remarks

The <remove> element removes authentication modules that were defined earlier in the configuration file or at a higher level in the configuration hierarchy.

Example

The following example configures a custom authentication module and then removes the authentication module.

<configuration>
   <system.net>
      <authenticationModules>
         <add type="MyAuthModule.dll, MyAuthModule" />
         <remove name = "MyAuthModule" />
      </authenticationModules>
   </system.net>
</configuration>

Configuration File

This element can be used in the application configuration file, the machine configuration file (Machine.config), and the publisher policy file.
