Receive Customer Inquiries and Requests for Service

You can use Service Management to determine what your service offerings will be, and manage contracts and service quotes. After these are in place, you can create service orders. Orders can be in response to customers requests, or automatically generated at set intervals for the terms of a service contract.

A service order is the record that captures all the details about a service. By using a service order, you can view the contract number, if there is one, and customer contact information. You can view the details of the service items that are part of the service in the Lines section of the Service Order window. You can also view invoicing and shipping details.

The following table describes a sequence of tasks, with links to the topics that describe them. These tasks are listed in the order in which they are generally performed.
