Overflow Level Field, Item Table
Specifies a quantity by which you allow projected inventory to exceed the reorder point before the system suggests to decrease existing supply orders.
This field is useful if you want the supply plan to remain unchanged after minor changes, such as cancellation of insignificant demand quantities.
Additional Information
The overflow level is ignored if it is lower than the suggested supply quantity.
The overflow level only works for items that use the Maximum Qty. or Fixed Reorder Qty. reordering policies.
If the Overflow Level field is blank for all items, for example after an upgrade from a version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV prior to version 5.0 SP1, then one of the following values in the Blank Overflow Level field in the Manufacturing Setup window applies to the item.
Reordering Policy | Description |
---|---|
Maximum Qty. |
Overflow Level = Maximum Inventory + (Minimum Order Quantity. + rounded up to nearest order multiple) |
Fixed Reorder Qty. |
Overflow Level = Reorder Quantity + Reorder Point + (Minimum Order Quantity + rounded up to nearest order multiple) |
