Movement Worksheet Window
Contains the worksheet in which you plan movements of inventory in the warehouse. Routine movements that you plan are the movements to replenish the bins with the fastest moving inventory. When you calculate bin replenishment, Microsoft Dynamics NAV finds bins with a higher pick ranking that must be replenished from lower ranking bins and creates lines for the necessary movements. You can decide to create movement instructions for all the suggested replenishments, or you can delete some of the lines before you create instructions. You might do this if you know that your employees only have time to perform a limited number of movements before the warehouse closes for the day.
You can also plan movements that would not usually be suggested. You can move items from most bin types to most other bin types. You cannot move items to and from bins with a receive bin type. For example, if you want to sample random items from several bins to check the quality of the items, you can plan movements from pick-type bins to a bin type that is not used for the usual item flow. This is typically a bin that is not selected in the bin type activities.
After you have planned the movement of inventory, or you have edited the suggested replenishments, you can create movement to relay the lines for action by a warehouse employee.
Additional Information
When a location is set up to use directed put-away, pick, or bin types, you cannot manually move items in or out of a bin with a receive bin type, because items that are in a receive bin must be registered as being put away before they are part of available inventory.
Use the First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) method to determine which item-tracked items to pick, according to their expiration dates. To do this, all of the following conditions must be true for an item:
The item must have an expiration date.
The Pick According to FEFO field on the Location card must be selected.
You must use the calculate bin replenishment.
After these conditions are met, the From Zone and the From Bin fields will be empty because the algorithm to calculate where to move the items is only triggered when you create movement.
