How to Run a Device Driver Synchronization Package

You can gather Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP device driver compatibility information by running a device driver status synchronization. When you select Run Device Driver Status Synchronization, Configuration Manager 2007 receives device driver compatibility information from the Microsoft Corporation and the Application Compatibility Toolkit community to help determine device driver Windows compatibility.

Use the following procedure to run a driver status synchronization.

Importante

Before you run the device driver synchronization, you must perform a Configuration Manager 2007 hardware inventory. For more information about performing a hardware inventory, see How to Configure Hardware Inventory for a Site.

To run a device driver status synchronization

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to
    System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Application Compatibility Toolkit Connector

  2. To run the driver status synchronization, in the Actions pane, click Run Device Driver Synchronization. Alternatively, in the Actions menu, select Run Device Driver Status Synchronization.

  3. Select the operating system to run device driver synchronization, for example Windows 7 or Windows Vista.

  4. To start the synchronization, click Run.
