IUpdateServerConfiguration.SyncFromMicrosoftUpdate Property

Gets or sets whether the WSUS server synchronizes updates from Microsoft Update or a local WSUS server.

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean

true if the WSUS server synchronizes updates from Microsoft Update, false if the WSUS server synchronizes updates from a local WSUS server.

Remarks

You cannot set this property to true if IsReplicaServer is true.

If it is false, you must use UpstreamWsusServerName to specify an upstream WSUS server with which to synchronize. To specify the port to use to synchronize with the upstream server, use UpstreamWsusServerPortNumber. By default, WSUS uses HTTP over port 80. To indicate that the port is an HTTPS port, set UpstreamWsusServerUseSsl to true.

WSUS ignores the following property values if you synchronize updates with an upstream WSUS server:

• AllUpdateLanguagesEnabled

• Languages specified using

  • SetEnabledUpdateLanguages DownloadExpressPackages 

  • DownloadUpdateBinariesAsNeeded 

  • HostBinariesOnMicrosoftUpdate
