Tuple<T1, T2> Constructor

Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

Initializes a new instance of the Tuple<T1, T2> class.

Namespace:  System
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Sub New ( _
    item1 As T1, _
    item2 As T2 _
)
public Tuple(
    T1 item1,
    T2 item2
)

Parameters

  • item1
    Type: T1
    The value of the tuple's first component.
  • item2
    Type: T2
    The value of the tuple's second component.

Remarks

You can also use the static Tuple.Create<T1, T2>(T1, T2) method to instantiate a 2-tuple object without having to explicitly specify the types of its components. The following example uses the Tuple.Create<T1, T2>(T1, T2) method to instantiate a 2-tuple whose components are of type String and Double.

Dim tuple2 = Tuple.Create("New York", 32.68)
var tuple2 = Tuple.Create("New York", 32.68);

This is equivalent to the following call to the Tuple<T1, T2> class constructor.

Dim tuple2 = New Tuple(Of String, Double)("New York", 32.68)
var tuple2 = new Tuple<string, double>("New York", 32.68);
