Teste para o fim de um arquivo

A função ReadFile verifica a condição de fim do arquivo (EOF) de forma diferente para operações de leitura síncronas e assíncronas. Quando uma operação de leitura síncrona chega ao final de um arquivo, ReadFile retorna TRUE e define a variável apontada pelo parâmetro lpNumberOfBytesRead como zero. Uma operação de leitura assíncrona pode encontrar o fim de um arquivo durante a chamada inicial para ReadFile ou durante operações assíncronas subsequentes se o ponteiro de arquivo for programaticamente avançado além do final do arquivo.

O exemplo C++ a seguir mostra como testar o fim de um arquivo durante uma operação de leitura síncrona.

O teste para o fim do arquivo durante uma operação de leitura assíncrona é um pouco mais envolvido do que para uma operação de leitura síncrona semelhante. O indicador de fim do arquivo para operações de leitura assíncronas é quando GetOverlappedResult retorna FALSE e GetLastError retorna ERROR_HANDLE_EOF.
