TWiST #85 - Testing in Production, Part I
Matt Heusser was kind enough to invite me to speak on his This Week in Software Testing Podcast. Of course the topic was TiP!
The show is here
It requires you sign up with good folks at STP (Software Test Professionals), but it’s free.
When we hear the phrase "testing in production, we almost instinctively think of developers pushing untested code out to unsuspecting users and the howls of discontent fill the Interwebs until the problems are fixed. that's the popular image, and as is so often the case, the popular image and the reality of the process are far removed from one another. L.B. Dankar of Etsy and Seth Eliot of Microsoft join us to explain the differences between the common perception of "live deployment" and testing in production and their real world experiences, which actually includes a lot of testing and well understood processes and strategies to maximize the benefits of rapid and frequent deployment while minimizing the risks.
But why take my word for it, have a listen for yourself.
