Install Copilot for Finance (admin-deployed) (preview)

This article explains how to install Microsoft 365 Copilot for Finance as an administrator.

Business users (end users) can also install Copilot for Finance individually. For more information, see Install Copilot for Finance (business user-deployed).

Note

To deploy and install Copilot for Finance by using the Microsoft 365 admin center, you must be an administrator in the tenant.

Administrators can use the Integrated apps feature in the Microsoft 365 admin center to install Copilot for Finance. Both Copilot for Finance add-ins (Outlook and Excel) can be deployed and installed through the Integrated apps feature.

Administrators can start the process for each add-in in either the Microsoft 365 admin center or AppSource. Administrators who start in AppSource will be directed to complete the process in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Install the Copilot for Finance for Outlook add-in from the Microsoft 365 admin center

To install the Copilot for Finance for Outlook add-in from the Microsoft 365 admin center, follow these steps.

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  2. In the left pane, select Settings > Integrated apps.
  3. On the Integrated apps page, select Get Apps.
  4. In the AppSource window, search for Copilot for Finance.
  5. In the search results, select Copilot for Finance for Outlook, and then select Get it now.
  6. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, in the Configuration step, select the apps to deploy, and then select Next.
  7. In the Users step, select the users or groups that will have access to the add-in, and then select Next.
  8. In the Deployment (Permissions) step, review the app permissions and capabilities in connection with Copilot for Finance, select Accept permissions, and then select Next.
  9. In the Deployment (Finish) step, review the selected settings, and then select Finish deployment.
  10. When the deployment is completed, select Done.

Note

Individual business users might have to wait up to six hours before Copilot for Finance appears in their Outlook and Excel applications.

Install the Copilot for Finance for Excel add-in from the Microsoft 365 admin center

To install the Copilot for Finance for Excel add-in from the Microsoft 365 admin center, follow these steps.

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  2. In the left pane, select Settings > Integrated apps.
  3. On the Integrated apps page, select Get Apps.
  4. In the AppSource window, search for Copilot for Finance.
  5. In the search results, select Copilot for Finance for Excel, and then select Get it now.
  6. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, in the Configuration step, select the apps to deploy, and then select Next.
  7. In the Users step, select the users or groups that will have access to the add-in, and then select Next.
  8. In the Deployment (Permissions) step, review the app permissions and capabilities in connection with Copilot for Finance, select Accept permissions, and then select Next.
  9. In the Deployment (Finish) step, review the selected settings, and then select Finish deployment.
  10. When the deployment is completed, select Done.

Note

Individual business users might have to wait up to six hours before Copilot for Finance appears in their Outlook and Excel applications.

Manage the Copilot for Finance app

After you install Copilot for Finance as an integrated app, you can manage its configuration, add and remove users, and view information about its usage in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

  1. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Settings > Integrated apps in the left pane.

  2. On the Integrated apps page, select the Copilot for Finance app (Excel or Outlook) that you want to manage.

    The Copilot for Finance pane appears. It has the following tabs:

    • Overview – This tab shows basic information about the add-in, deployed apps, and assigned users.
    • Configuration – On this tab, you can remove the app from a selected product. To remove the app, select it, and then select Remove.
    • Users – On this tab, you can edit the users who can use the app.
    • Usage – This tab shows the number of active users of the app, based on the selected platform and date range.
