Para adicionar ou remover entradas de um arquivo da lista de controle de acesso (ACL), os objetos FileSecurity ou DirectorySecurity devem ser obtidos a partir do arquivo ou diretório, modificados e, em seguida, aplicado novamente ao arquivo ou diretório.
