Control.OnDrop Method

Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

Called before the Drop event occurs.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Controls
Assembly:  System.Windows (in System.Windows.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Protected Overridable Sub OnDrop ( _
    e As DragEventArgs _
)
protected virtual void OnDrop(
    DragEventArgs e
)

Parameters

Remarks

The OnDrop method is called before any event handler for the Drop event is called. This method allows derived classes to handle the Drop event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

This implementation does not change the handled state (the Handled property) of the Drop event data.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnDrop in a derived class, be sure to call the base class’s OnDrop method so that registered delegates receive the event.
