BindingManagerBase.DataError Event

Definition

Occurs when an Exception is silently handled by the BindingManagerBase.

public:
 event System::Windows::Forms::BindingManagerDataErrorEventHandler ^ DataError;
public event System.Windows.Forms.BindingManagerDataErrorEventHandler DataError;
member this.DataError : System.Windows.Forms.BindingManagerDataErrorEventHandler
Public Custom Event DataError As BindingManagerDataErrorEventHandler

Event Type

Examples

The following code example demonstrates the use of this member. In the example, an event handler reports on the occurrence of the DataError event. This report helps you to learn when the event occurs and can assist you in debugging. To report on multiple events or on events that occur frequently, consider replacing MessageBox.Show with Console.WriteLine or appending the message to a multiline TextBox.

To run the example code, paste it into a project that contains an instance of a type that inherits from BindingManagerBase, such as a PropertyManager or CurrencyManager. Then name the instance BindingManagerBase1 and ensure that the event handler is associated with the DataError event.

private void BindingManagerBase1_DataError(Object sender, BindingManagerDataErrorEventArgs e) {
    System.Text.StringBuilder messageBoxCS = new System.Text.StringBuilder();
    messageBoxCS.AppendFormat("{0} = {1}", "Exception", e.Exception);
    messageBoxCS.AppendLine();
    MessageBox.Show(messageBoxCS.ToString(), "DataError Event");
}
Private Sub BindingManagerBase1_DataError(sender as Object, e as BindingManagerDataErrorEventArgs) _
     Handles BindingManagerBase1.DataError

    Dim messageBoxVB as New System.Text.StringBuilder()
    messageBoxVB.AppendFormat("{0} = {1}", "Exception", e.Exception)
    messageBoxVB.AppendLine()
    MessageBox.Show(messageBoxVB.ToString(),"DataError Event")

End Sub

Remarks

This event is informational and reports Common Language Specification (CLS)-compliant exceptions only. To determine what type of exception occurred, handle this event and check the Exception property of the BindingManagerDataErrorEventArgs.
