How to Configure an ISV Proxy Application
Applies To: System Center Configuration Manager 2007, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2
The administrator must perform a number of steps to successfully configure the ISV Proxy and ISV Proxy clients in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
To configure an ISV Proxy
Install the ISV proxy software. During installation, the ISV proxy software asks for the site mode (mixed or native), management point location, and site code. The ISV proxy software should install the Configuration Manager 2007 management point COM interfaces. If it does not, the administrator must install them on the required computer.
Deploy the certificate to the ISV Proxy computer. If the site is being run in native mode, you must deploy a public key infrastructure (PKI) certificate. For more information, see the "Deploying the PKI Certificates Required for Native Mode" section of the Configuration Manager Documentation Library. If the site is run in mixed mode, the ISV proxy application generates a self-signed certificate when it is first run. It is recommended that developers use MakeCert.exe for creating self-signed certificates for development testing. For more details about the Certificate Creation Tool, see the MSDN documentation for Certificate Creation Tool (Makecert.exe).
Export the ISV proxy computer certificate from the certificate store to a .cer file. For more information, see How to Export an ISV Proxy Certificate.
Register the ISV proxy with Configuration Manager. For more information, see How to Register an ISV Proxy.
Deploy the ISV proxy managed clients.
